our founder's story
There were many hard times growing up, but the one I remember most is during World War 2. Food was rationed, supplies were limited, and people were scared. Everybody used food ration stamps to purchase goods. We were very limited as to what we could buy. No chocolate or sweets for us during this time. Thankfully my father continued growing his own berries and fruit in the garden.
That's when mother came up with a delicious idea.
A treat for all of us to enjoy made from natural ingredients. She used nuts and the fruit from her garden. Mother would go up to the attic and carefully set the food to dry and wait. Once all was ready she combined everything and created a healthy natural snack to treat our family with. Many years later, as a grown woman I tried to find something that tasted as good as what my mother made when I was young. Coming up empty handed and my hands full of artificial bars, I though back to simple times.
That's when I created Alpsnack.
